Linspire, previously known as LindowsOS (also Lin---s, pronounced as Lindash), is a Linux distribution based on Debian GNU/Linux using ubuntu repositories. Linspire's focus is on ease-of-use for home, school and business users. Linspire strives to be easy for the average person to use rather than catering to the perceived demands of a power user.

On October 10, 2007, the stable release of Linspire is version 6.0 (Linspire 6.0), which includes KDE 3.5.6, Xorg 1.2.0, GCC 4.1.2 and version 2.6.20-16 of the Linux kernel (latest build released 30 November 2007 - Linspire 6.0.17).

Linspire OS costs $49.95 USD and "Premium CNR" $49.95, which provides a one year subscription to the CNR service. Freespire (live and installable) and Linspire Five-0 Live are free.
