Lycoris has become part of Mandriva. Lycoris used to be known as Redmond Linux. The last version, Desktop L/X 1.4, was released on 13th September 2004.

The corporation was founded in 2000 by Joseph Cheek with a vision of making Linux simple enough for everyone and pioneered the Linux based home-user desktop by offering. Lycoris packaged Open Source applications for the consumer market and integrated them into Desktop/LX, its simple, robust operating system. Lycoris enjoyed amazingly positive press coverage in Time Magazine and other publications.
